HIRD BARNHEIM

The Hird Barnheim (Old Norse: Home of the Kids) gathers up kids in fun and inspiring activites. They are held locally without any involvement from the Hird Organisation. All activities are naturally to be governed by responsible adults who are level-headed and capable to keep things safe and fun.

Physical activities could be anything from doing sports to a very light and fun approach to combat training with a plastic pipe and a lvery light weight shield. Wooden sticks should be reserved for older kids/teenagers who show skill and responsibility.

Other activities could include setting up and helping out with local Gefa (charity) projects and workshops where they get to make their shield or other Viking Age items.

The Hird Barnheim is prohibited to bring up topics such as gender, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation.

If you are interested in starting up a local Hird Barnheim, get in touch with us and let us know your ideas and plans, and we'll take it from there.
