Viking shoes based on a find from the Oseberg ship burial in Norway. They are made in oiled leather that has been dyed dark brown. The tough leather sole is fixed with stable nails, rather than being only sewn on as in the originals. They also come with a rubber sole variant for those wanting extra durability.
High instep: If you have a high instep, it is possible to carefully widen the T-shaped cut on the boots. Simply widen the cut on both sides with a pair of scissors tiny bits at a time till they fit you. The area is marked out with a green circle in one of the images, and the widened cut area with red.
Historical shoes obviously do not compare to modern shoes in terms of durability or comfort. Unless you have bought the rubber sole variant, avoid using them a lot on modern surfaces, such as concrete, asphalt, gravel and so forth that can wear down the sole. It is also possible to fit them with insoles to increase durability, comfort and isolation from water and cold. Vikings would have traditionally used thicker wool socks.
